Windows 10: Windows 10 stuck in preparing automatic repair.

I can't get to safe mode or even a Bios screen. I have tried all of the suggestions like removing the battery and power cord. Shift key does not work f8 does not f12 does not work. I don't want to lose data. Susan

• On which version of Windows 10 is your device running?
• Are you getting any error messages?
• Do you have an installation media for Windows 10 (DVD or USB)?

Preparing Automatic Repair

My son's Lenovo Ideapad 110-15ACL has been stuck on "Preparing Automatic Repair" for over a week now. I can't followed any steps listed for remedying it because the computer doesn't respond to any instructions, like holding F8 or even booting from a USB, at all. Has anyone ideas or it's time to discard this 5-year old laptop?

• Have you tried to perform the Startup repair method which is provided in the previous post?
• Are you getting any error code?

I suggested in the previous post, try to first download the Windows ISO file and create Windows 10 Installation Media.

Then I recommend you to follow the steps which is provided in the above method to perform start-up repair of the computer and let us know if you need any assistance while performing the above steps.
