    Windows 10 Scientific calculator bug???

I am using Calculator version 10.2103.8.0 that came with Windows 10.The Scientific calculator provides the ability to enter angles in degrees, radians, or grads to calculate the sine, cosine, tangent, etc. When using the inverse trig functions the result is converted to the currently selected units. This means that in DEG mode I can enter 30 and press the sin button and get the correct result of 0.5 and when I select the arcsine operation I get 30 back as the result. However, with the hyperbolic sinh function does not do the angle conversion from degrees to radians and provides a nonsensical a

Where is old Windows scientific calculator?

    Bree & OldGrantonian,

The Win10 Calculator can find the nth root of a number. If Windows 10 was not an experimental, undocumented OS this information would have been put in its Help system.

To find, for example, the cube root of 8 in the Scientific mode of the Windows 10 Calculator:-

    • Press 8
    • Press the Up arrow [between 1/x and Pi] and you'll see the alternative key labels appear

    • Press the y{root}x key
    • Press 3
    • Press =
[The answer turns out to be 2]

  3. Disable Scientific Notation in Windows 10 Calculator

In previous versions of Windows, the calculator worked fine. In Windows 10 it's completely unusable due to a bug (perhaps you'll call it a "feature") of displaying scientific notation when it shouldn't. It operates the same whether in Scientific Mode or
Standard Mode. I want the calculator to ALWAYS display results normally (non-scientific notation) unless the number is so small or large that it can't be displayed. But for small numbers (< 1), whenever it goes below a certain threshold it often reverts to
scientific notation when it shouldn't. For example it displays the following:

    1 / 1000 = 0.001

    1 / 1001 = 9.99000999000999000999000999001e-4

    1 / 2000 = 0.0005

The second case is totally unacceptable. It should display 0.000999000999000999000999000999001

Whatever the case, when deciding to use scientific notation or not, the calculator needs to be consistent, which obviously it isn't. And if it's possible to display a number in non-scientific notation, there must be a way to force that mode.

Furthermore, if I copy the result of the second case, using Control-C, then paste it back in with Control-V, it displays, "Invalid input".

Another annoyance is that on the right side it always shows the history. That feature is fine if I want it, but unfortunately it's always on unless I shrink the calculator's window horizontally until the point where there's no room for it and then it disappears.
Not the end of the world, but a more common approach taken by professional software development teams would be to have a setting for turning on/off history, as well as other features that you may or may not want.

If the Windows 10 calculator cannot be fixed to operate correctly, then is there a way to install the calculator from Windows 7 or another earlier version of Windows? If not I guess I'll need to search the internet for a company that makes a calculator that
works the way I expect a calculator to work, and not this insane auto scientific notation when it's not wanted.

    Scientific calculator for E72

The Nokia E72 is a great phone for personal and professional use, but should have a scientific calculator.

I have installed on other phone E71 a scientific calculator from Nokia Betalabs and works very well, but in the E72 model does not work.

In essence, this is the same calculator application that is pre-installed in several Nokia phones based on Series 40. Nokia may in future include a scientific calculator in the E series?
