Windows 10: Windows 10 - Microsoft Store won't update error 0x80080005, wsreset.exe not working,...

Hello.I've been trying to install WSL on my personal computer for a programming class. Unfortunately, my version of Windows 10 doesn't work with the wsl --install command in Powershell, so my only other option is to get it from the Microsoft Store app.Unfortunately, every time I open it, it says it needs to update, but it always throws the error 0x80080005. I've followed many similar posts to try and resolve this, but resetting the app through the Settings menu yields no results, and running wsreset.exe from Win+R results only in a black command prompt window that does nothing.Please help me r

Thank you very much. After running the wsreset I get that I need a new application to open ms-store. Also in the application list is not the Windows store.

Sorry? Have you got the correct Tweaking .com's repair tool? Or followed the steps to the end where you actually do the numbered repairs?




- If you had followed all the steps I'd have expected it to take a bit longer.

It guides you through stages of preparation, then you perform the repairs in Safe Mode.

Of course, you can just go to Safe Mode, launch the program, and directly run the repairs, missing the preparation... not the best of ideas. It's designed to give you ways of going back if something goes wrong by creating a restore point, registry backup... then doing the repairs.
