Windows 10: Windows 10 - media disconnected on ethernet and wireless adapters

My laptop says media disconnected. Is there any help for this? A new drive was put in and removed and this is what happened when I try to ipconfig to check the connection.

wireless driver - media disconnected problem - I think!

Hi,

For the last week I have not been able to get wireless access to my pc. I have intel centrino wireless adapter and this and the microsoft wifi direct virtual adapter keep showing 'media disconnected'

I have updated the intel driver - I initially lost the 'media disconnected' but still couldn't connect wirelessly but now I'm back to the 'media disconnected' message.

I've tried various suggested solutions without success.

Initially the troubleshooter gave 'missing protocol' message now it's given up and says it can't identify the problem.

Any suggestions would be very welcome and I'm getting very frustrated and have wasted a lot of hours trying to sort it. It's a pain having to use the ethernet cable all the time (that works fine).
