Windows 10: Windows 10 Media Creation Tool Error: 0x80042405 - 0xA001A

Hello, I`m trying to install windows 10 on a 64GB usb flash drive and I get the error 0x80042405 - 0xA001A.

I have searched the internet for a couple of days but I can`t seem to find a fix to this problem. I have tried to:

-Convert from GPT to MBR

-Formatting to NTFS and Fat32

-Run media creation tool directly from usb as an administrator

-Use different PC`s and USB flash drives

-Use Rufus to burn the Win 10 ISO file on the USB flash drive but it won`t show up in the boot menu

-Set the partition to active on the USB flash drive

and probably other useless methods I had found online

What causes 0x80042405-0xa001a error at 50% during creating Windows 10 Media on USB flash drive when running the Media Creation Tool? I have Windows 10 April 2018 Update and need to update the installation media.

This seems to be a common error for some, MCT can be fickle when creating and writing to thumb drives. Sure you have, but ensure you are getting the correct version. Language, home/pro, and the bits.. 32-bit or 64-bit. If that fails again, choose the option to just create the ISO only, you can choose where to let Windows create it. Then use another common Thumb Creator to actually make the thumb drive, Rufus. It will handle all the formatting and creation for you.

Media Creation Tool error.

Everytime my Media Creation Tool tries to create USB with Windows 10 install it pops up error 0x80042405 -- 0xA001A . Its after 100% complete download and creating media is around 50% + then it pops up . We are sorry but you have to contact technical support
error : 0x80042405 -- 0xA001A.
