windows 10 home vs windows 10 pro regarding remote access feature

Recently purchased a Dell desktop and a Dell laptop - both came with windows 10 home installed. Dell representative led us to believe that

we could use the remote access feature with the just purchased computers. We can't.

That is my first question - what is the REAL TRUTH about remote access and Windows 10?

Next, I have investigated upgrading to Windows pro. Because Windows 10 was installed by Dell before they sent the computers, we do not

have the licensing key for windows 10 home, which evidently I need to do the upgrade. I am trying to get this info from Dell, but it has been one of the most frustrating experiences ever with trying to reach anybody who can help.

While investigating upgrading, I have read horror stories about others trying to do the same and having major technical issues with their computers. I am no tech wizard (surprise, surprise) and now, on top of everything else, I am wondering dare I try to do an upgrade or do I need to hire someone to do this for me. THAT IS, if, we can indeed utilize the remote access feature.

I just wish the representatives selling products were truly trained, informed and educated on their products and what they can and cannot do.

    Help - anyone?

    Thanks.

PS - I am not sure I have picked the correct windows topic below. windows 10 home vs windows 10 pro regarding remote access feature :(

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Launch the Store from your Start menu.
    • Click the user icon next to the search box.
    • Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
    • Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
    • When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”
