Windows 10: Windows 10 HDR bug with YouTube full-screen video white/bright tinge

Hello dear readers.

I have a problem with the Windows HDR function.


I have two monitors; one is HDR capable, the other is not.

If I switch on HDR and open a YouTube video on my second not HDR-capable monitor in full-screen mode, the image briefly goes black and then the video has a bright tinge, like a white veil, which is placed over the image. If you close the full-screen mode again, the image briefly goes black again and after that the displayed image is fine.

As I said, the problem only occurs with my second monitor. However, I have not activated HDR for this monitor, it´s not even possible to activate HDR on my second monitor at all. Everything works normally on my main monitor, which is HDR-capable.

So far, this has only happened to me in the full-screen mode of YouTube, but I just bought my main monitor for a few weeks ago, so it may be that other applications are also affected and I just haven't noticed yet.

I think I'm not the only one with the problem and would be happy if someone has a solution. For me at the moment this means that I cannot really use HDR in my setup.


My setup:

- First/main monitor: LG 27GL850-B

- Second monitor: LG Flatron E2441

- Operating system: Windows 10 Professional 64-bit

- Browser: Google Chrome

Hallo liebe Leserinnen.

Ich habe ein Problem mit der Windows HDR-Funktion.


Und zwar habe ich zwei Monitore; einer ist HDR fähig, der andere nicht.

Schalte ich HDR an und öffne ein YouTube Video auf meinem zweiten nicht HDR fähigen Bildschirm im Vollbildmodus, so wird das Bild kurz schwarz und anschließend hat das Video einen hellen Stich, wie einen weißen Schleier, der übers Bild gelegt wird. Schließt man den Vollbildmodus wieder, wird das Bild wieder kurz schwarz und anschließend passt die Darstellung.

Wie gesagt tritt das Problem nur bei meinem zweiten Monitor auf. Allerdings habe ich für diesen Monitor HDR nicht aktiviert, bzw. kann HDR gar nicht aktiviert werden. Auf meinem Hauptmonitor, der HDR-fähig ist, funktioniert alles normal.

Bisher ist mir das nur beim Vollbildmodus von YouTube passiert, allerdings habe ich meinen Hauptmonitor auch erst ein par Wochen, es kann also sein, dass auch andere Anwendungen davon betroffen sind und ich das nur noch nicht mitbekommen habe.


Ich denke ich bin nicht der einzige mit dem Problem und würde mich freuen, wenn jemand eine Lösung dafür hat. Momentan heißt das für mich, das ich HDR nicht wirklich nutzen kann.


Mein Setup:

- Erster/Haupt Monitor: LG 27GL850-B

- Zweiter Monitor: LG Flatron E2441

- Betriebssystem: Windows 10 Professional 64-bit

Brightness not working on Windows10.

Hi ,

On my Dell 5559 Windows 10 , brightness not working.

Have tried few steps from youtube videos but did not work.

Please guide.

Windows 10 HDR bug - Pink pixelation and Banding in bright areas of the video


Pink Pixelation and banding in HDR Videos on my HDR TV (Even the preview video included in recent insiders build). Facing this on stable build also. I'm on latest Insider build, still the HDR playback isn't fixed since the Fall creators stable update. I experience all types pink pixelation on ground, sky and water which are moderately bright areas in a HDR video. TV completely supports HDR and it's a 10 bit panel. There's a lot of banding in sky. Tried various custom settings in Nvidia panel too but that doesn't help. In Netflix, pink moving pixilation goes on the face of Actors. For gods sake, demo video inbuilt for HDR in windows 10 also looks awful with banding and pink moving pixels in sky. Attached some screenshots and a video for reference. ***I played the same files on TV natively and it looks gorgeous with true HDR.

Hardware Used -
Laptop- Acer Predator Helios 300
Processor - Intel 7700HQ
Graphics card - Nvidia 1050ti
External Monitor- 10 bit TV - MI TV 4 - Pro calibrated, Full support for HDR 10, capable for Dolby Vision, HDMI 2.0b, supports all chroma subsampling modes upto 4:4:4 12 bpc. Premium certified HDMI cable used.
