  1. Windows 10 forgets previously connected hidden network upon waking from sleep

Pretty much as the title says. Whenever I put my computer in sleep mode, something I commonly do when going between buildings as hitting the power button on a Surface Pro 4 is easy to do to turn the screen off, it completely forgets the hidden network it was connected to previously. And when I say forget I don't just mean failure to auto-reconnect, I mean the network no longer even shows up in the list. Then, when I attempt to re-add said network to the list, it pops up as <network> 2, which I then have to right-click and hit forget for it to suddenly remember the original network and properly reconnect.

This has been happening since I bought the laptop, but I've noticed it on a lot of various laptops we use at work as well, albeit primarily from Dells (but I'm pretty sure some of our HPs have had the same issue). This issue seems to be related to an update that must have been pushed out at some point and as such does not appear to be device specific. However, I am unsure how to resolve the problem. It doesn't do it for networks that aren't hidden, only hidden ones (at least on my laptop anyways, haven't checked that theory on other devices). It also seems to affect devices that are domain joined the same as those that aren't so its unlikely to be a network issue, at least as far as settings being applied via GPO.

I've tried to troubleshoot this to the best of my ability but nothing I do seems to work. Any help would be much appreciated, as it is getting a tad annoying having to manually re-add the hidden network I use to my laptop every time I need to do my job.

  2. W10H cannot connect to hidden network

Do you have the current 380. 63?

Also when the network is not hidden I'm assuming the device in question can connect fine?

Windows 10 not remembering password on hidden SSID (and not automatically connecting). Also previously used (saved) hidden networks do not show the SSID in the wifi list (just says hidden network).

I don't have problems connecting to the hidden SSID network. Windows is not remembering the password (and will not automatically connect to saved networks) if the SSID is hidden. I must manually enter the password every time I restart or shutdown. The
option to automatically connect is selected. Also the network list will not show the name of the previously-known and saved hidden SSID (it just states "Hidden Network").

Windows 10 forgets previously connected hidden network upon waking from sleep

W10H cannot connect to hidden network

Last night when I couldn't sleep I started playing around with hidden the SSID in my Asus RT-AC66U router running Merlin's firmware.

My Intel ComputeStick with Intel Wireless-AC 7265 couldn't connect when the SSID is hidden even with manual input it just says connecting nuth happens, but if I take my iPhone 7 Plus add it manually it connects just fine.

So is this a Windows 10 issue?

I hope that someone knows how I can fix this? my ComputeStick is running Windows 10 Home 32bit with Anniversary Update.
