Windows 10: Windows 10 File Explorer, etc...

Please help, I have contacted Techinical Support dozens of times, was escalated to Level 2 support only to not hear back from them. They continually tell me to call the 1-800 number, which tells me to go to the website and disconnects me...where I am then told to call the 1-800 number...

File Explorer stopped working...will not launch on its own nor from any programs and as such I am unable to get files into or out of programs

Desktop icons have disappeared

Command prompt will not accept certain commands, telling me I need to be an administrator both user profiles are set to administrators

Level two support attempted to do an in-place upgrade? to re-install/repair windows... If I understood corerectly windows would not allow it.. I think again saying that I needed to be an administrator again, I am the only user.

I desperately need this computer to work. I work from home and this is my work PC. I CAN NOT get through to technical support as they won't call back and keep telling me to call the 1-800 dead-end with my "Level 2 Case Number"...only to be referred to the website and automated system... and back to the phone number...

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows Explorer Replacement?

I don't use Internet Explorer, I meant the thing where you can look at files etc. Hotkey Windows+E. Maybe it's the wrong name in english though. *Stick Out Tongue

 

Microsoft Internet Explorer renamed to Windows Internet Explorer ?




Since version 7 of the world`s most popular web browser - Microsoft Internet Explorer was silently renamed to Windows Internet Explorer.Such a step from Microsoft is not a surprise since Internet Explorer is part of the Windows operation system for a long time.Obviously Microsoft corp. wants to state that Internet Explorer is already considered as a part of Windows and not as an external browser (remember the IE and WMP law issues last year!?).
