    Windows 10 breaks downloads if media is playing back


    So, I think this has happenned since 20H2, it may be even sooner, not sure

    The issue is that trying to download stuff from a browser Both Opera and Edge from time to time the download is stops with 'Failed - Network Error', and I'm sure it does so some installer downloads fail, and maybe some lag spikes in-game I haven't checked if it's related

    But in safe mode that does not do that, it just downloads as usual. So I started digging and it fails to download if something is playing media, or even pause if it's open:
    - Spotify Desktop, Store and open.spotify.com once you interact with it, opening in while on the download won't cause any error
    - Soundcloud
    - Youtube
    - Steam Music
    - Groove Music
    I tried disabling media handling keys from browser flags and media pop-up from Spotify, didn't change anything obviusly. But it has to do something with media I guess. Also tried some download flags, nothing.

    I can easily replicate this, closing everything makes a various GB download with no problem, open a video on yt and will error the download in a couple of seconds, do the same on spotify or groove or whatever. It doesn't care if it's one just one at a time.

    So thanks in advanced and sorry if there are some misspelled stuff, not my first language

    Faulty Windows Media Player

    Windows Mesdis Player developed a fault (Played jerky an missed bits) so I down loaded Media Player 10.

    It's no better. Any suggestions (I run Windows 98)

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Download Windows 10 TH/RS

    For the convenience of not having to use the installation media for startup repairs. But you should be able to use your installation media to do whatever the recovery partition does(including startup repairs). AFAIK. I could be wrong about that though.
    I'm not sure if I follow you there. But if you clean install Windows 10 there will be at least 3 partitions.
    • (EFI System Partition)
    • (Primary Partition)
    • (Recovery/OEM Partition)
    If you install from an OEM installation media there might(should?) be 4 partitions. Since there might(should?) be a Recovery partition and an OEM partition.
