This isn't a question at all but a possible solution to a problem that has plagued myself and others for a few years now. This evening I found a fix for me.I have had issues with Game DVR on and off over the years where you record some game footage and find there is no audio in the recording. My homebrew system has a 5.1 Surround Sound card.I have been playing with the Windows settings tonight and noticed that when Windows Audio Enhancements is set to 'Default Device Effects' it cancels out the audio in the recording.Set this to 'Off' and you will be all good again. Also if your sound card is s

  2. Windows 10 Game DVR audio recording.

    Hi Jastin,

The Audio Settings in the Game DVR can be changed so you can disable the Audio when recording game clips. To do that, follow the steps below:

    • Press the Windows + G on your keyboard.
    • Click the Settings icon and go to Audio tab.
    • Uncheck Record audio when I record game clips.

You also have an option if you want to enable or disable audio from your microphone. In the
Audio settings, you can check or uncheck Record my microphone next time I record a game.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to reply to this post anytime.

Windows 10 game DVR has high contrast.

    Hi Avinash,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

If you are signed into an Xbox account in Windows 10 you can stop Xbox DVR from running by opening the Xbox app.

I recommend you to follow the methods given below.

    Method 1:

    • I suggest you to update the graphic drivers of the computer and check if it helps.

      Refer to this
      Link
      , to update the drivers.

    Method 2:

    • Open Settings
    • Click on Gaming
    • Click on Game DVR
    • Under the “Recorded audio,” use
Audio quality drop-down and select 192kbps
    • Under “Recorded Video,” select the
      60FPS Option
    • On “Video quality” select
      High

Once you complete the steps, Game DVR will record game in at 60 FPS with up yo 1080p resolution depending on the game.

    Hope it helps.

    Game DVR Glitched recording

We appreciate your reply. Here are methods on how to troubleshoot DVR issues:

    Troubleshooting Steps:

Trouble shooter guides can be found at:

    Xbox Support

    Try Full-Screen Mode:

Sometimes you'll get an error "There's nothing to record" when running a game in windowed mode. It'll refuse to run unless the game is in full-screen mode. You'll have to change the settings in your game to get it to fill screen. Another option is to
press Alt-Enter and that may switch it to full screen.

You won't see the game bar in full screen so you'll need to use your shortcuts to start/stop recording.

    http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-on-windows/social/record-game-clips-game-dvr-windows-10

According to that article you need to press these keys in sequence to start recording. Other keyboard shortcuts won't work.

    • Windows + Alt + G
    • Windows + Alt + R

    Restart GAME DVR Task:

    • Open up the Task Manager (Right click on the taskbar and go to Task Manager OR Press Windows-X and then press T)
    • Find the DVR Server task (bcastdvr.exe). Click it and go to End Task.

    Delete Temporary Files:

    • Open Settings App and go to System
    • Go to Storage and choose This PC
    • Scroll down and find Temporary files
    • Click on it and then click on Delete temporary files.
This process may take a while to complete - it all depends on how many you have. Wait until it's complete and then reboot your PC and try again.

    Change the Shortcut Keys:

Sometimes it's possible that the shortcut keys are blocked by another program - you can't record by pressing Windows + Alt + R for example.

You can change these or assign a secondary shortcut by:

    • Start menu
    • Xbox
    • Settings
    • Game DVR
    • Keyboard shortcuts

Reinstall or Upgrade Your Graphics Card Drivers:

Visit your graphics card manufacturer's website, locate your model and download the latest drivers. Install/reinstall them, reboot and try the DVR again.

We hope this would do the trick, if anything else comes up, we're here to further assist
    you.
