    Win10 explorer.exe crash and restart all the time


    Win10 explorer.exe crash and restart all the time, so that I can't see the desktop. CPU is very high when I run the cmd explorer in task manager and have to kill it. Looks the antimalware services is high CPU when explorer is executed.I tried to reboot the OS and use sfc /scan, the issue still there. However, I can login the safe mode and the desktop is there without crash.Below is the error message. Pls help. : Application: Application Error: 11/21/2024 3:31:59 PM ID: 1000: 100: : :

    Thank you for your reply. If the above steps did not work, let's try another workaround. You can try restarting your Windows Explorer from the Task Manager and see if it will resolve the issue. Follow the steps below:

    • Open Task Manager.
    • Click the drop-down arrow beside More details.
    • Under Processes tab, look for Windows Explorer from the list.
    • Select Windows Explorer, right-click on it and select Restart.

    After doing so, open Windows Explorer and see if it will crash again.

    Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Explorer crashing

    Thanks Zat. I had never looked at event viewer and it had more info than I thought. Seems the problem was a second computer I was trying to network with. Unplugging the ethernet cable fixed the crashes. Explorer must have been looking in the wrong place I guess.

    I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
    Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
    What happens?
    If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

    P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
    Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
    What X1800XT model do you own exactly?
