Windows 10: Win10 boots only after the 2nd time I hit the power button.

I have a HP x360 with Win10.

The cold boot isssue occured the 1st time after replacing the original hp battery with a noname one. But the noname one seems to be from the same factory in china and the battery test didn't show any issues.

The cold boot issue:

I hit the power button, the OS won't loaded. It hangs on the Windows icon (without loading dots). Then I hit the power button again to shut down the laptop.

Then I hit the power button the 2nd time and the OS will be loaded successfully.

Does anyone have an idea/solution for that?

• Disabling fast boot doesn't fix the issue in my case.
• My bios ist up2date.

Power button baerely working and long boot times

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in response.

We suggest you to run the Power troubleshooter.

• Type Troubleshooting in the search box
  and hit Enter.
• Select view all from the left pane and select
  Power troubleshooter.
• Follow the on-screen instructions and run the troubleshooter.

We would also suggest you to update the chipset drivers from the manufacturer website and check.

laptop doesnt boot automatically

This is what happened.

1. Did a repair install and later disabled hibertnate in CMD.
2. Enabled legacy option ROM in BIOS.
3. After a few times startup ( i used the system in such mode for 5 days), changed boot option back to default.
4. Vola!! It boots automatically to win10 without any keypress. Tested it with many starts to confirm the same.
5. Re-enabled hibernate option using CMD and later selected Fast Startup.
6. System booted normally, without the need for any keypress.

I do not know exactly whether such steps resolved the problem or what else happened, hence cannot suggest above steps.

How to disable "5 seconds power button shut off" on a laptop?

I does not suggest you to do this, if you insist on this, try the following steps.

1. Open Control Panel
   
2. Find and click System and Security
   
3. Find and click Power Options
   
4. On the left hand, you will see Choose what the power button does and click it
   
5. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable to be able to change the settings
   
6. In When I press the power button, you can choose Do nothing
