Win 10 PC Blackscreens ocassionally with new GPU

Hi guys,I just swapped my GPU from a GeForce RTX 3070Ti to a 5080, installed everything drivers, upgraded my PSU to fit the recommended 850W and double checked the cables as well as installed a stand for the GPU.I have the following issues:When I play games on Steam everything seems normal and behaves as it should. When I decide to swap to League of Legends, something weird happens and I could only observe that with League of Legends.Either when I am about to load into the game so the application starts, I either get a blackscreen right away second monitor works just fine or it shows no pr

  2. Blackscreen with high GPU fan spin

    Hello guys,

I'm having a problem where my PC will have a blackscreen with the GPU fans at 100%. I still have sound and can communicate through Discord but nothing else. I have to hard reset the PC afterwards. It happens with a lot of games especially on start up. For example R6 with DirectX will Blackscreen on startup but R6 with Vulcan will work relatively fine. I find that I have microstutters in games that will work with the only fix being lowering the options, limiting the frames etc. It doesn't even need a heavy load to happen this problem appears on games like AC1 or PCBS2. I've noticed that it got worse over time aswell.

    These are my specs:

    - CPU: Intel i5-10400F

    - GPU: MSI Radeon RX 480 GAMING X 8G

    - RAM: 2x G.Skill Aegis 8GB 3000mHz (X.M.P enabled)

    - PSU: ThermalTake "Hamburg" 530W

    - Motherboard: GIGABYTE B560M DS3H V2

    - SSD: Crucial P3 Plus 500GB M.2

    - OS: Windows 11 Pro

I basically tried everything related to the graphics driver because i suspected them to crash so I already tried multiple leagacy versions and a complete fresh install of the drivers. CPU, RAM, SSD and Motherboard are relatively new and have been installed as of January this year together with a new version of Win 11. I've cleared CMOS.

Thermals of CPU and GPU look pretty normal with the GPU rarely exceeding 70°C and the CPU sitting at around 50°C.

The Hardware itself looks alright I can't see any obvious damages at the GPU connectors or anything else. I have to add that I never took apart the GPU since I bought it in 2017 that means I also never changed the Thermalpaste. I just superficially cleaned the dust once or twice but like I said the thermals look alright to me. I also don't suspect the PSU although it is probably the oldest Part in my setup.

Do you guys have any idea? I can supply some stats from a few tests I did with HWinfo and GPU-Z but I have no idea about PCs really so I would really appreciate every Help I can get!

  3. Windows 10 Blackscreen during install

Hello, earlier today i upgraded some parts in my pc, bought a new gpu, new hdd and I decided to upgrade my fake windows 7 to windows 10. when i had all the new parts working I started the installation of windows 10.

I made sure it started fine and then left my computer for about 2 hours, when i came back the screen was black but turned on, and the pc was also on. Here is where i maybe made a mistake (I don't know), I pressed the restart button on my pc. It shut off
and started but with the windows 10 loading screen, I was reliefed for about 5 seconds untill the blackscreen came back...

Normally i googled the issue, tried some stuff. But the same things didn't happen to me as for them. Probably because they got the blackscreen when windows already was installed. I first tried do the startup fixing by restarting 3 times untill trubleshoot
came up. I tried starting in safemode, I got a message saying it couldn't start in that mode because it couldn't install then. Tried restarting and just got blackscreen.

I tried reseting my whole pc. when it reinstalled windows it restarted the computer, started loading then got the blackscreen.

Then I booted in safemode again and I actually got into my computer!! But i couldn't do anything in the computer. Not using my keyboard, open the windows menu. but I could see my mouse and things highlighted when pointing at them.

Then i restarted my computer normally, thinking the issue was fixed... it wasn't. I booted in safemode with network and i got into the windows 10 setup menu. I was happy. But then the problems came. At every step it was an error and it wasn't able to complete
    the setup.

Restarting my computer again just got me to the blackscreen again. I cant go to the startup repair because i have to chose user, and ther us only a user that is called something like "originaluser0" or something, I'm not at that screen atm so i don't remember
exactly. That user has a password that i dont know, it isn't just blank.

Right now i'm reseting my computer and reinstalling windows for a second time because I saw someone who just left it at the blackscreen for a very long time and it fixed. But if you know any other fixes please write them.

Edit: Now the reinstallation have gone to the blackscreen again but I am going to wait and see if anything happens

Win 10 PC Blackscreens ocassionally with new GPU

New Win 10 PCs cannot see other PCs on network

    Ken

It may be that both steps were necessary. I just did them one step at a time.

Indeed. Whilst it's good to have a solution I cannot say I feel I understand how the problem has been resolved. Everything I read suggests that SMB1 should only be required for older versions of Windows. In fact, without SMB1 checked, the only computer visible to the new Win 10 boxes was a Win 7 box!!!
