Windows 10: Win 10 Home - Print Manager Not Installed

I was installing a new printer on a Windows 10 home computer today in an office. The other PC's I upgraded to Win 10 from 7, no problems. This PC is a relatively new one that came with 10 pre-installed when they purchased it. When installing the new printer a couple of the pc's (including this one), had a duplicate entry (I am thinking they must have tried to install it themselves at some point and failed, though they hadn't told me that). On the other PC I was able to go into 'print management' and remove the duplicate entry, then reinstall and everything is fine. On the "new" PC however, 'printmanagement.msc' is completely missing. I tried bringing it up with the searchbar first, it didn't find it. So I went via the admin panel and there was no shortcut. Launching from cmd line did nothing. On the other computer I was able to find 'printmanagement.msc' in the system32 folder, but on this computer it is not present in that folder at all.

I did some searching on MS and Google, and only found instructions for installing the snap-in via Windows Server 2003/2008. Any thoughts from anyone on how I can (re)install this component on that PC using Windows 10 Home? It seems odd to me that would be missing in the first place. Perhaps this is an easy answer and my GoogleFu is weak on this occasion, but I couldn't find any references to anyone simply not having printmanager present on a native Windows 10 install. I didn't turn up any kind of download for it on the Microsoft site, but as I said, perhaps I'm just "missing" it.

Anyone run into this before? I have done quite a bit of support for Windows 7, but haven't done much before now with Windows 8 or 10. So I am still learning some of the new changes. Thanks for any help.

Edit: just realized I should have tried an sfc /scannow, but didn't think of that until I was writing this.

Shared printer on Creators Update PC ; now asked for userid and password when try to print to it from another PC

I have a mini PC running Win 10 Home 32bit that I use as a print server for my home network. The local userid on the mini PC has no password. Before the installation of the Creators Update other PCs (Win 10 and Linux) on the home network could print to the
mini PC print server just fine without needing to specify userid and password.

After installing Creators Update, other PCs are being asked to authenticate with userid and password on print jobs but a null password is not accepted. So I can no longer print from the PCs on my home network to the shared printers.

How do I stop the Creators Update PC from asking for userid and password for print jobs ?

Win 10 Printing Issue

My laptop with Win 8.1 was able to print to my home networked printer via WiFi. After upgrading to Win 10 I am no longer able to print and it keeps telling me that the printer is offline. My second
laptop that does not have Win 10 installed is able to print to the printer so it is not offline. Powering either Win 10 laptop or printer on/off does not fix problem. Tried deleting and adding printer but that did not seem to solve the problem

 

Quick update, sfc found no missing files.

 

Okay. Was doing some more work and realized that the other computer I thought was running Windows 10 Home, was actually running Pro.

After a quick check around the office I now gather print management isn't available in the home edition. Which now gives me a different problem to solve, but wraps up this thread at any rate.
