Windows 10: Wifi settings not saving and can not manual add wifi setting

I'm experiencing persistent issues with my Qualcomm Atheros AR946x Wireless Network Adapter on Windows 10. Despite multiple troubleshooting attempts, the problems remain unresolved. Here's a detailed overviewroblem Description:Network Forgetting: My system fails to remember previously connected Wi-Fi networks, requiring me to re-enter credentials after every reboot or disconnection.Manual Addition Failure: Attempts to manually add Wi-Fi networks result in errors, preventing successful connections.

How to set up Wifi? HTC S720

Yes, HTC S620 or HTC Excalibur has wifi built-in. To set up wifi, follow these steps:

• turn the wifi radio on by going to settings>command manager>wifi
• it should automatically give you the list of available wifi hotspots
• If the network is protected by key, it will ask you you to enter the key
  

 

Is it possible to set up a new manual wifi connection from the command line?

I'm trying to work out a solution to set up ad-hock wifi connections in Windows 8.1 based on the suggestions in a post on Micsrosoft's answers site. Is there any way to do the first few steps:

• go to "Network and Sharing Center"
  
• click "Set up a new connection or network"
  
• double click "Manually connect to a wireless network"
  
• enter the SSID of the ad-hoc network (as shown by "netsh wlan show networks") into the "Network name" field
  
• configure security settings accordingly
  
• uncheck "Start this connection automatically" (important)
  

...without using the windows dialogs?

 

having trouble setting up wifi router

my parents moved and got a new ISP, who gave them cable modem with no built in wifi. so, i sent them a know working wifi router.

When i was testing the router, i had zero problems. No setup was needed. Just automatic IP's selected and it was working just fine.

In a case with my parents (who are complete noobs, which makes this even more difficult), if Ip's are set to automatic, i am unable to reach the wifi router.

Ok, so, I setup IP's manually and i am able to log into the wifi router and set it up, as well as log into the cable modem, but nothing further than that. All of that is made even more difficult because I have to do all of this remotely....

Am I missing something?
