Windows 10: Why windows explorer preview not working and possible connection with Adobe Acrobat

I use Windows 10 PRO. First problem is the explorer preview pane only works for image files. I recently reinstalled windows and I was able to preview all files including word, excel, pdf. Then something went wrong after I installed Adobe Acrobat. I could not preview any file types only images. So I turned to XYplorer as an alternative to Windows explorer. I could preview all files except adobe pdf. I then installed Nuance PDF. When I change file association from adobe to nuance pdf, I could preview pdf in XYplorer. However in Windows Explorer everything remained the same: only image files

We understand your concern. The PDF Shell component in Adobe Reader allows you to see the thumbnails of PDF documents in Windows explorer. However, it seems Preview and Thumbnails of PDF files are disabled. Please follow steps mentioned below to enable
the same.

1. Launch Adobe Reader.
   
2. Click on Edit in the menu bar and choose
   Preferences.
   
3. Highlight General under Categories.
   
4. Check the box behind Enable PDF thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer.

Acrobat PREVIEW makes Explorer crash/freeze

Good evening,

The explorer preview of a PDF with Adobe Acrobat makes windows explorer freeze.

There is a pop-up: *Capture d’écran (177).jpg


I am using a french version on a french OS, translated it would mean "an internal error happened".



So, to sum up as an answer to what I saw in different forums:

1. This has nothing to see with the file's weight / length / etc.
   
2. This is NOT related to any plugin neither in Acrobat nor Explorer.*
   
3. "Repairing" the software won't help.
   
4. Uninstalling the software won't help.
   
5. uninstalling the software with Revo, making a deep clean, running a cleaner and reinstalling won't help.
   
6. Disabling the "preview protection" in the settings of Acrobat won't help.
   

Please.

Help me, I'm so bored of having this preview problem because as a photographer I keep the preview on all the time and a single click on a PDF file makes it easier to restart the PC than to wait... Apart from that, the software runs perctecly.

So does explorer.

Hello. I did a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit, and other programs, mostly Adobe ones.

I do not get a preview of the pdf file any longer, just the Icon for Adobe Acrobat on each pdf.

How do I fix this?
