Windows 10: Why is there language switcher ENG in the taskbar even though I specified only one language...

Even though while I was setting up Windows, I was asked and explicitly specified that I wanted no additional languages, Windows still places an annoying language switcher in the taskbar. Then I find that there is no way to remove it because the toggle that controls it has no effect. So I have some "great questions" to ask...Why is it displayed in the first place?Why doesn't the toggle in settings work? What method DOES work to remove it?Why has this been happening for over a decade?

sorry, but its not shown on the list, I chose 2 languages and when I use the taskbar language switcher, it shows 3

 

Taskbar shows language switcher on windows 11 even though i only have one language installed

I am on windows 11 (10.0.22621) and am using Canadian English as my display language. It is the only language pack installed, yet on the taskbar the language switcher gives me the option to switch to american english. I don't know how to make it go away. I tried using the powershell command to see what languages are installed and it verified that only canadian english was, i tried installing american english and then uninstalling it and that works until my computer restarts/shutdown.

To remove the Croatian language in Windows 10, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Open the Settings app, select Time & Language, and click
  Region & Language.
• Under Add a language, select English, and click
  Set as default.
• Select the Croatian language and click Remove.
  
• Close the Settings app, restart the computer, and check if the issue persists.
