Windows 10: Why is the wifi on my computer so slow but the wifi on my phone and every other device from...

I have been having this issue recently where when I turn on my Computer, i run a speed test to make sure everything is working fine and i get my usual download and upload speed about 500 download and 150 upload however everytime I open a game, it randomly drops ON THE GAME as well. And when I close the game and run another speed test i get results like this: https://i.imgur.com/jQDEIej.png I do know that opening and having a game running WHILE doing the speedtest will drastically lower speeds due to the game using up most of the resources which makes sense, but this is after i close the

Is there anything better than this which has maximum Wifi range? For example can it play movie from 30 meter distance ? From other room ?

Slow transfer speed - Wifi

i did a bunch of tests on wifi with about a dozen adaptors, and found it REALLY varies between adaptors and even location.

at one of my old houses i got ~4MB/s at best, moved house and the same hardware does 11MB/s.


unplug and disconnect any cordless phones you have, disable bluetooth on phones and tablets, and so on. anything in 2.4GHz or 5GHz that could be causing your router wifi interference and try again - and then try with different wifi devices (use a phone, tablet, laptop etc and compare their results) - and dont forget to move your aerials too. a wifi adaptor in the back of a PC is in a shit spot, behind a metal cage and all that.

 

Why is my wifi slow?

Crowded look which channels are populated the most.

If you have a mobile phone you can use an app called Wifi Analyzer it list you all networks and channels otherwise your router does that as well in the config menu.

If all of those option are not available for you try changing the channel randomly in your router wifi setup
