Windows 10: Why is Recovery Id same on 2 different computers

Recovery Key id on laptop different that one displayed on my Microsoft account. So I can't do bitunlock. I didn't request or try to set up a bitlock Idm

Bitlocker recovery key ID

I changed my email address and had to wait 30 days to get my recovery keys. When i went into Microsoft to get the recovery key, the display showed a different key ID. I think j have more than one device with this email address. Hiw do i get the recovery
key for the other device tvst is not listed?

Sorry for the delay in response.

• Did you use the same USB on 2 computers?
• Are the 2 USB of same brand?

If they are different USB's and the one which says "we can't create a recovery drive" try to format the USB with NTFS format and check.

We would also suggest you to use a different USB drive and check.

 

Bitlocker Recovery ID

Hello,

I was locked out of my laptop due to an update. The recovery key for my bitlocker is wrong and has a different Recovery Key ID. I've tried ALL options, including going to my microsoft account and clicking "manage recovery keys." However, when I do that, it goes to a URL that says "Try a different URL." I have my recovery key written down, but it is not working and clearly wrong because the recovery ID key ID is different.

This is super frustrating as I have tried getting in touch with a live agent but it brings me in circles. I never got in touch with an agent.

I've exhausted all my options. Please help! I don't mind wiping my computer and losing data, but I do not know how to. I just was a serviceable computer.
