Windows 10: Why is my screen grey on startup?

I turned on my computer after not being on it for a few days. The bios boots just fine but when it gets to windows it’s just a grey screen with a spinning blue circle. The sound of windows starting is there, but not keys or commands work. Even after several restarts nothing is working. Changing monitors, cables, or changing to integrated graphics did absolutely nothing. Help please.

Hi,

I suggest you to create a Windows 10 installation media and perform a Startup Repair on the device and check if it helps to resolve the issue.
This is an alternate way to boot the device and run recovery tools when something goes wrong with the Operating system.

Please follow the steps below to do Startup repair:

Steps:-

          Insert the installation USB drive
          and boot Windows 10 from it.
          
          If you don't have one, you can Create an installation Media.
          
        • 
          In the ‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’
          and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on ‘next’.
          
        • 
          Click on ‘Repair your computer’ and select ‘Troubleshoot’.
          
        • 
          Click on ‘Advanced options’ and select ‘Startup Repair’
          and select the operating system.

Red screen with grey stipes on startup of Widows 10. I am not able to get to the Widows startup screen.

After a recent update to Windows 10 (July 22, 2016), I have a red screen with grey stipes on startup. I am not able to get to the Widows startup screen. None of the suggestions I have read online work because I am not able to start in safe mode, access
the control panel or enter in my WIndows password.
