Windows 10: why is my beats studio pro headphone's mic not connecting or working

my studio beats pro headphones work perfectly on other devices but the second I use them on my laptop, the microphone usually doesn't connect but the audio does.

Beats Headphones connect but not headset

I am trying to get my beats studio wireless headset to connect to my pc via bluetooth so I can make calls and talk to cortana.

I can connect the headphones (listen to music all day and adjust the volume without problems) but the hands free headset is not connecting via bluetooth so the microphone doesn't work.

When I go to sound settings, my default device is Beats Studio Stereo headphones BUT the Beats Studio Hands Free Headset is disconnected and will not connect.

I am able to connect my beats to my laptop (also running windows 10) and everything works perfectly. On my laptop, it shows both the headphones and headset (to use the microphone on the beats) as connected and I can listen to music and makes calls all day.

Headphone microphone not working.

I have Beats Studio 3 Headphones which work with either Bluetooth or wired. When I have it wired into my pc, the audio sounds fine but I can't use the built in mic my headphones have. If I connect the headphones through Bluetooth, the mic works but both the audio and mic quality are horrendous (practically unusable). I am able to make the Bluetooth sound quality sound nice but then the mic doesn't work. When I have "Headphones (Beats Studio³ Stereo)" selected as my sound the headphone quality is fine but mic doesn't work. When I have "Headset (Beats Studio³ Hands-Free AG Audio)" selected as my sound the mic works but both the audio and mic quality are terrible. I'm certain this isn't an issue with my headphones. Does anyone know how to resolve this?

 

How to use Beats Studio 3 headphones with Windows 10

Can anyone help me connect my Beats Studio 3 wireless headphones to my Windows 10 laptop please?

• Windows is paired with and connected to my headphones if I try with Bluetooth
• I cannot both hear and be heard, sometimes neither, on skype calls an WebEx meetings
• Even when I use my headphones wired my voice is being picked up from my laptop instead of my headphones

I can use the headphones for calls wirelessly with both my iPhone and MacBook.
