Windows 10: Why is my audio constantly messed up since updating to windows 11?

For a couple of months I thought that my headset was starting to die on me, but one day I switched my audio over to my speakers and noticed the same crackling-like sound that I had been hearing in my headphones. It is an issue that bugs the hell out of me and I don’t know how to fix it. The only temporary fix is restarting my computer immediately upon booting it up. Yes I have the latest updates installed. Yes I have the latest drivers installed. No it’s not a hardware issue, all of my hardware is practically brand new. I have checked every forum and Microsoft support page possible, and even t

Windows 11 messed up audio devices

Hey all, I just upgraded to windows 11 from 10, and now all my audio devices are messed up. I used to have it as my speakers that are plugged into the front audio port, and my headphones/mic plugged into the back. They were listed as 2 separate devices that I could toggle between. Since I went to 11, it is now showing as 1 audio device only and the audio plays from speakers and headphones at the same time. any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks

Additional Information: If the issue persists, update the audio drivers from manufacturer's website.

My Windows Audio is a Mess

Hi there Punchcard, I will be your Independent Advisor for today, I hope we can both resolve your problem.

What I would suggest for now is to completely remove the Audio drivers listed in the Device Manager. Please make sure you remove all listed under Sound and audio devices.

Here is how to do it.

Here the steps to completely remove a Device off your computer.

Step 1. Use shortcut keys Win + X on Windows 10.

Step 2. Select Device Manager.

Step 3. Expand the entry Sound and Audio. Right-click the problematic device and select Uninstall device.

Step 4. You may need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device, and then click the Uninstall button.

Step 5. Reboot the computer.

And then please see if there are any improvements.
