Windows 10: why have my folders in favorites gone from being YELLOW to clear - what has happened????

All my folders have gone from yellow to clear what has happened and how can this be fixed?

Hi Gilbert,

To isolate your concern, do you want your Favorites Folder to have the
Yellow star icon shown? Here's how:

• Right-click on the Favorites Folder, and then click
  Properties.
• Under the Customize tab, click on the Change Icon.
• Select the Yellow star icon, and then click OK.
• Click Apply, and then click OK.

To assist you better, I would like to know whether you are referring to the favorites folder created within the Internet Explorer.

If you lose the favorites saved within the Internet Explorer
and as an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to check if you are able to locate the favorites that has been missing from Internet Explorer.

• Click This PC.
• Type %userprofile% into the Address bar
  
• Press Enter on your keyboard
• Click on Favorites and check if the missing favorites are there.
  

If you are able to locate the missing favorites, I suggest you to create a backup and try to import the favorites.

Folder in Favorites lost

Had a folder in IE favorites named xxxxx favorites with many items in it. Don't know what I may have done but it is gone from the list. When I try to create a new folder it tells me that there is one already there, but it is not. Any suggestion where I might find the lost folder or how to restore it.
