Windows 10: Why does plugging in or ejecting a USB flashdisk sometimes change my desktop background...

My desktop background is set to Picture, like so:





Sometimes, when I plug a USB flashdisk in the desktop background goes black.

If I check my Personalization settings I find that the desktop background has been changed to Solid Colour, like so:





Any idea what could be causing this ?




Personal not company Dell Inspiron 15R N1150 with Windows 10 Home 64-bit Version 2004, build 19041.450 recent fresh install onto unformatted HDD using a newly created Windows 10 installation bootable USB, automatic updates enabled. Connected to home private network, not using domains

Hi,

To change the desktop background into a solid color, see the steps below:

• Right-click on the desktop, and select Personalize.
• Under Personalization, select Background.
• On the right pane, click on the drop-down menu for Background, and then select
  Solid color.
• Choose your preferred color and it should immediately make changes.

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows Logo Key + I. Then click on Personalization.
• Click on Background to change it.
