Windows 10: Why does my laptop get so hot?

I've had this laptop for about 6 months now and it is continuously extremely hot. It is not in High-Performance Mode, there is nothing externally connected like a speaker or mouse, and I only ever use Google Chrome on it. So why is it overheating so much? I use it for school and bring it in my backpack, but I will reach in my bag to grab something and realize all of my books are warm because of my laptop. I hear the fan running all the time, even when the lid is closed and no programs are running, so is there something I am doing wrong?

When playing games the hot keys are active

I suggest you to follow the steps below to disable Hot Keys and check if that helps.

• 
  Right click anywhere on your desktop screen and select Graphics Options.
  
• 
  Navigate to Hot Keys and then click on Disable.
  
• 
  Check if issue persists.

Laptop hotkeys not working [windows10]

I used this method and get solution for wifi keys problem on windows 10 on Me HCL laptop.

I suggest you to try installing Hotkeys driver.

Follow these steps after install the drivers check if that helps.

• Download the keyboard drivers and hot fix (PHotkeys) driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• Install driver on your system

• Go to Path of installed driver Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘Troubleshoot comparability’.
• On the ‘Test Compatibility settings for the program pop up windows’ open and click the box ‘Test the program’ Once this is done, check if the issue persists.
