  1. Why do unused apps take up so much memory?

My computer has a lot of storage issues. This is a bad thing because every single day it'll hit a point where it starts lagging and crashing, making it hard to do things like use Skype, watch videos, or write. I'm doing my best to clear up space to the point where my downloads folder is completely empty and I delete images almost as soon as I'm done using them, but it's not enough. Several apps eat up too much data, despite the fact that I don't actually ever use them- such as Microsoft Photos and XBox Game Bar. So why do apps I've never used keep taking memory, and why is it impossible to uni

    :)
