When I right click on a folder in File Explorer and go to Show More Options > Rename it picks a different folder to Rename.I had other people try this process and they had the same result.If the image is not clear enough I have an MP4 that illustrates the bug.There are other ways to work around the issue F2 or the Rename icon, but there is definitely an issue with this method.Edition Windows 11 Enterprise Version 22H2 Installed on ‎3/‎9/‎2023 OS build 22621.1413 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22639.1000.0

I suggest you to follow the steps and screen shot and check if you are able to find the option to Rename the files:

• Open the Photo App.
• Click on photo.

Next, Right click on the photo and select the option Open folder.



Once file explorer open, Right click on the photo and select the option Rename.



Now try to rename the photo and check if you are able to do it. Let us know if you unable to find these options.

Thank you for getting back to me, if you read my post I have said I only get 3 options when I right click, they are delete, copy and share

 

renaming a folder in the file explorer folder list

I have the same issue as one shown before

In W11 File explorer, when I select a folder in the list on the left and right click and select the More Options and click on Rename, the highlighted folder to be renamed, does one of two things, it either

1 - jumps to another folder, where all the characters are highlighted and available to change

2 - I am unable to rename the desired folder at all, nothing happens if I select the folder name a second time, to bring up the editing feature or if I right click and select rename from the more options menu

I have not found a way of renaming it at all but will now try to reboot and see whether that helps.
