Windows 10: When I tried waking my computer up from sleep after I fell asleep...the monitor detected no...

First of all, yes, I usually try troubleshooting issues it's just...wow, this is infinitely out of my depth as I'm used to fixing laptops. So, I have a hand me down desktop that's pretty much a dream PC for my standards and, yeah, the title happened. Oof. I'm pretty sure I put it to sleep before resting.Is it possible something shorted out? Is there any method I can use to check what maybe went wrong? Mysteriously, I think the monitor seems to wake up when I turn the desktop back on. I might have imagined it.I tried a TV it's what I have on hand and hooked it up to the back, hdml cord, and..

Windows sleep mode--computer won't stay asleep

I usually manual enter sleep mode on my computer. Since upgrading to Windows 10, I can put the computer to sleep but several minutes later the computer "wakes up" again. I have no problems initially going into sleep mode. Computer fan stops, HD stops etc.
It just doesn't want to stay asleep. Any suggestions?

Windows 10 Upgrade 1903 64 bit Sleep Wakes Up on Multiple Computers

Someone suggested I look at all the drivers list before and after the upgrade. I did, nothing found/changed in drivers.

What I did discover was that after the KB4503327 upgrade, if I put the computer to sleep mode (via power menu,) I discovered the computer wakes up after the minutes set in the "turn off screen".
So, if the screen shutoff were five minutes and I put the computer to sleep, it would wake up after that amount of time, then turn the screens off after another time period of five minutes.

At this point, I have set the screen turn-off to "never" and any other sleep mode to "never".
Then, when I put the computer to sleep, it stays asleep.

This issue was never seen until this OS upgrade was installed in the system.

My next step is to upgrade the video adapter (something from 2007) to a new and different model adapter to see if that corrects this issue, or not. For now, my work-around is to set "never" in "sleep mode".

 

PC waking up automatically from sleep mode

As indicated in my post, it is the monitor, not the PC that I am having trouble keeping it in sleep mode.

I have set the monitor to sleep at one minute. When it does, it wakes immediately. Something is waking it up.

Your suggestion to untick the mouse & keyboard "Allow this device to wake the computer" did not work, however if I remove the mouse/keyboard dongle, the monitor stays asleep. I have changed batteries, removed batteries from mouse/keyboard,
so they do not work but still the monitor wakes right-away.

Since the transceiver is in a USB 3.0 port, could this be a related problem?
