    Hi All when I put DVD into drive the system locks and a hard shut down becomes necessary. I have followed the instructions that are relevant in this post: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/topic/your-cd-or-dvd-drive-is-not-recognized-by-windows-or-other... but they didn't solve the problem. I cannot find an update for HP DVDRAM GU70N or a download of the original if mine is corrupt. Any ideas? or anybody who has fixed this problem want to pitch in? Thanks in advance

    DVD Burner started locking up recently

    ok I cleaned it and it's not locking the computer up now, but it still doesn't recognize when theres a cd/ dvd in the drive... any next step to rectify that problem? lol...

    Is this the HP 15r014tx in your system specs? If so, try the steps in this thread....

    It may be that your DVD drive has a hardware failure (as was suggested in that thread).
