Windows 10: When I plug in my earbuds to my laptop I can't hear other tabs like YouTube or Spotify when...

I'm able to hear other tabs perfectly fine without them connected, but the second I plug them in all the other tabs go mute. They still are playing because when I switch to them from the game I can see the time bar at the bottom move. I tried many things but nothing seems to work. This only started happening to me last week.

Laptop won't detect built-in mic on headsets/earbuds

I'm running Windows 10 home on a Lenovo Ideapad laptop, and it doesn't detect the mic on any of my headsets/earbuds. I can hear playback fine on my headsets/earbuds, but it can't speak through them, since it insists on using the laptop's internal mic. This results in my typing/mouse clicks all being captured on audio.

• In sound properties recording tab, I just see "microphone (Realtek high def audio)" and "stereo mix (Realtek high def audio)"
  
• In sound properties playback tab, I just see "speakers (Realtek high def audio)", yet I hear audio fine on my headsets/earbuds?
  
• In device manager, it doesn't detect a headset either, displays the same list as the recording tab

So do all 3 of my headsets/earbuds have some kind of "plug and play but stays invisible to the OS" feature? One of them is the default Apple earbuds, I'm 100% sure there's a mic on there and these are brand new, so they aren't broken. Are these not supposed to appear as a "headset" device with the headset icon in sound properties?

Hello, I'm Jan and I'm happy to help you today. Please try each method below to troubleshoot the Bluetooth Tozo T-12 earbuds

1. Search "Bluetooth"

Select "Bluetooth and other devices settings"

from the list select your Bluetooth Tozo T-12 device

Click Remove device

Press Yes.

2. Search Device Manager

Open Device Manager

Click on "View"

Check "Show hidden devices"

Expand Bluetooth

Then right-click on your Bluetooth earbuds

Then uninstall All the drivers related to your Tozo T-12 earbuds

Restart your computer.

Then try to pair again your Bluetooth device.

3. Search Control Panel

Open Control Panel

Click View by: Large Icons

Select Devices and printers

from the list of devices

right-click on your Bluetooth speaker

then select properties

click service tab.

then put a check on all the features under the Bluetooth services.

click apply then ok.

 

Windows 11 - unable to use laptop's built-in microphone while Apple earbuds are plugged in

While it does sound reasonable that my earbud mic should override my laptop mic, this situation has not always been the case. In fact, for the past four years, I had plugged in the same earbuds and always had access to my laptop mic. On June 3rd (about a week ago), I connected my earbuds and used my laptop mic just fine. I'm now curious as to why my earbud mic is taking over.

Additionally, my earbud mic does not work to an acceptable level either. This mic does not pick up my voice, which defeats the purpose of using a microphone.

There are also strange behaviors with the earbud mic, such as failing to appear on a list of sound recording devices, being absent from the list of drivers, and ignoring the Windows mic mute option. It seems like the earbud mic does not leave any trace of itself on my laptop, despite causing so much trouble out of nowhere.
