Windows 10: WhatsApp desktop app popup notifications do not open messages

Hi


I have Whatsapp for PC on Windows 10 Pro. When I receive a message on PC, I see the message preview popup bottom right, but when I click it, it just vanishes and doesn't bring Whatsapp to the front to display the message.


I had this issue on a previous machine, which I managed to fix by following instructions in a post somewhere that I remember were quite complicated.


The notifications are appearing correctly. I have all permissions set correctly. The problem is Whatsapp not taking focus when the popup is clicked.


Any ideas?

Alright, so I recently downloaded Whatsapp Desktop from the Microsoft store, for the purpose of being able to see my message notifications on my laptop too.

What I noticed, was that I wasn't getting any notifications at all. I checked the settings within the app, and notifications were enabled. I figured I would have to go to the Windows Settings itself, so I did.

This is where I went.

Settings > System > Notifications & actions

My "Get notifications from apps and other senders" is enabled.

I scroll down, and I don't see the Whatsapp Desktop app.

Without being able to see it in the list, I can't enable the notifications. What should I do?

I understand your query related to notifications for WhatsApp Desktop app on your PC.



One of the things that you can try is to change the privacy settings for the notifications of the apps.

1. Press Windows + I keys together to open
   Settings.
   
2. Now click on Privacy and select
   Notifications.
   
3. Under Allow apps to access your Notifications toggle the switch to
   On.
   
4. Toggle the switch for
   WhatsApp Desktop app to On under Choose which apps can access your notifications.

No notifications under Whatsapp Web on Chrome?

Hi,

I don't get notifications on my Whatsapp web when i'm getting a message.

Even though everything is enabled in settings i don't get the push notifications.
I do hear the sound but not seeing the popup. I'm using Chrome as my default browser.

Uninstalled and reinstalled - Didn't Help.
When using Firefox - Notifications work normally.
When trying to use Whatsapp application for W10 - still the same issue. Everything is enabled in settings and yet it is not working.

i couldn't find any information on that issue online, is that some bug on chrome's side? do i need to enable anything under windows settings?
