  1. What is the percentage of computers that get ruined by standard updates?

I'm trying to tread a fine line so I don't anger the AI volunteers. I went to the text support chat to find out why my pc was stuck on the 'preparing automatic repair' screen after a standard update. And was informed after 5 hours that a software update couldn't affect my hardware, while also saying that my issue was a hardware issue with the only change to the system being the software update.I'm looking for a group of people in this forum to get a sense of how many individuals had to do any sort of work including contacting support to fix something that was caused by a suggestion made by

I will gladly dispose of any "ruined computer" that Windows 10 has "ruined". Just ship them to me and I will take care of disposing of the "ruined" hardware!

I haven't had to face that problem with any of my PCs yet. (Touch wood. [Old pagan ritual to avoid bad luck.])

You may ultimately have to re-install Windows, but I hope that someone can offer a less painful fix.

A suggestion: "Windows 10 update ruined my computer" sounds like a ranting post. There are many helpful people here, but they respond better to requests for help than to complaints.

Battery jumps to RANDOM percentages while on charge

    Hi Nathan,

For us to isolate your laptop percentage battery issue, we would like to know the following:

    • Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?
    • Are you getting any error messages? If yes, what is the exact error message?
    • Is this the first time you experienced the issue?
    • To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

We look forward to your response.
