    What is the cost of windows server datacenter edition?


    The licensing model of windows server datacenter edition is complex, as I am not able to understand in datacenter edition are they renting the license for months/years or they are selling it as they offer in personal laptops for windows OS edition.I am not able to try as I need to make a purchase before trying it, so I am asking here if somebody can help me with it.

    We acquired a license for Windows Server 2019 Datacenter but we need to install Windows Server 2016 Datacenter. What is the procedure to convert the Product Key for activation?

    Hi there,

    We just got a new Dell Server with Windows Server 2019 Datacenter Edition.

    My question is how to install VMs with Windows 2019 Standard edition? The ISO from Dell is only for Datacenter edition.

    Can I download the Standard evaluation from Microsoft, and activate it? Or is it OK to install all VMs as DC edition?

    What are the best practices here?

    Activate Windows Server 2022 Datacenter on Hyper-V Host with Windows Server 2019 Datacenter

    Hi!

    I tried to aktivate a new VM on my Hyper-V Host.

    The Hyper-V Host is a Windows Server 2019 DataCenter Core.

    The new VM is a Windows Server 2022 DataCenter (with GUI).

    For the activation by Host i use the AVMA-Key for Windows Server 2022 DataCenter but the Server couldn´t be activated with this key.

    Why? Isn´t possible to use a WinSrv 2022 DC as guest on a WinSrv 2019 DC Host?
