Windows 10: What happens when I install windows 10 on laptop that had win 7 before?

I've got an old laptop that had windows 7 and it won't boot anymore loading screen appears with the bios option and then a white underline appears in the corner and laptop shuts off although I can access bios/F8/F12 and it won't shut off then So I decided to recover photos from my sata hdd which I did and now I'm trying to make this laptop work one way or another. I've realised windows 7 will probably be hard to obtain and it's outdated so I went for windows 10. My question is if the hdd has been already taken out and formated than when I put it back into my win 7 laptop and try to install

Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.

Win.10 won't boot after installing Win.7

Hi,

So i installed Win.10 via the UEFI and after installing Win.7 on Legacy Mode onto a different HDD i can't boot into Win.10 (I believe can only because Win.10 was installed via UEFI)

I tried installing the BCD Software but nope. I even tried to select my HDD but say Winload.exe error

Even tried going into the USB and try repairing but the same thing happens
