    "Multiplayer is disabled. Please check your Microsoft account settings."This is the error message I see when I point the mouse at the disabled Multiplayer button in Minecraft Java edition. I am running a Windows 10 PC and I made the huge mistake of telling Microsoft that this PC was for a child when I installed windows. I have searched this site as well as using Reddit and other search tools. None of the available information has solved the problem; much of it is out of date - or at least, the actual screens visible today do not match those mentioned in the documentation.     I'm trying to enable multiplayer for my child's Minecraft java account. I have followed guides similar to this enable multiplayer minecraft pc for child - Microsoft Community I have tried multiple ways website and the Xbox safety app. However they can still not access multiplayer feature.

    If you have bought Minecraft before, you’re now getting the other edition for free. Woot! Follow these steps to redeem it:

    Go to the Microsoft Store listing for Minecraft: Java & Bedrock for PC.

    Sign-in to the Microsoft Store with your Microsoft account.

    Once you’re signed in, instead of a “Buy” button you should see a button that says “Get.” Click this button – and now you own both editions!

    HOW DO I RUN OR PLAY EITHER VERSION OF MINECRAFT?

    Once you’ve completed the steps above, including logging into the Microsoft Store, you can now download the Minecraft Launcher.

    To play Minecraft: Java Edition, download and install the correct launcher for your operating system. Sign into the Launcher using your Microsoft account, and you will be able to run Java Edition.
