Windows 10: “We can't sign into your account.” Windows 11 Temporary Profile Issue + CTFMON.EXE SUCCESS...

My laptop randomly shut off and when I tried to login back in, I was faced with the “We can’t sign into your account” error and a temporary profile. When I tried to restart it and login several times, it still did not work and I kept trying to sign in and after a few attempts, it just wouldn’t let me login again. So then I tried going into safe mode as the online guides suggest, I tried the shift + restart trick. Didn’t work. Then I did the force restart trick, it first asked for my bitlock recovery key, I put it in, then I entered safe mode from advanced start up f5. And tried to enter saf

To assist you better, let us know from which version of Windows you upgraded to Windows 10? Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1 update?

I suggest you to refer to below link on “find lost files after upgrading to Windows 10” and go to the option

I also suggest you to create a new user account and check if it helps.

Please follow the below mentioned steps to create a new user account:

  Press Windows logo key +
  I key to open Settings.

  Select Accounts, click on
  Family & other people in the left pane.
  
• 
  Under Other users, select
  Add someone else to this PC.
  
• 
  Enter a name for the new account. If you wish create a password, and verify the password, add a password hint, then select
  Next.
  
• 
  Select Finish.
  

Note: As you are logged in temporary profile be sure to copy everything you worked on to an external drive/flash drive because it will be deleted when you sign out.

W10 Signed on with temporary profile

PC booted up signed on with a temporary profile about a week ago.

After trying various solutions suggested on WEB without success including using the official Microsoft repair utility I resorted to the suggestions regarding editing the registry.

This did work perfectly apparently for the first or so boot afterwards but the machine constantly returns to the temporary profile.

So what exactly is going on (malware/trojan/boot sector malware or some other software/corruption issue?
