Windows 10: Waves Maxx Audio Pro not detecting any output device

I think some windows update caused this or something. Basically my headset which has a built in microphone is plugged into the headphone jack of my laptop. When it is plugged in it should show some output device options including Headset, Headphone etc. But it started not showing anything despite it being plugged in properly. Due to this the microphone connected to my headset doesn't work and isn't being detected, but for some reason the speakers of the headset itself does work. Someone help please. the issue:

1. Are you getting any error message related to the issue?

Please be advised that the said issue can occur if the audio driver becomes corrupt or missing. So, please follow the below steps to troubleshoot.

Step 1: Hardware troubleshooter.

The Hardware Troubleshooter is an automated tool which checks the hardware connected to the computer for any known issues and provides the details on how to fix them. Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter.

a) Press Start.

b) Type “Troubleshooting” in the search bar and press “Enter”.

c) In the “Troubleshooting” window, click on “View All” on the left pane.

d) Click on “Hardware and Devices”.

e) Click on “Advanced” and then click on “Run as Administrator”.

f) Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Now, please follow the below step if the issue persists.

Step 2: Uninstall and reinstall the driver.

Please try to uninstall the driver and install it again and check if the issue persists.

To uninstall a driver:

1. Press Windows key + X and select the device manager.

2. In there select the waves maxx audio driver from the list under the Audio input and output.

3. Right click it and then select the uninstall option.

To reinstall the driver:

Now, go to the manufacturer’s website and download the drivers.

Now, install the drivers and run them in compatibility mode and check if the issue persists.

1. Right click the application file and select properties.

2. In the compatibility tab, go to compatibility mode, tick the Run the program in compatibility mode for: select the windows operating system you want the file to run in (select Windows 8.1).
