W10 admin/MS account user is "guest" and "wdagutilityaccount", no password

Hi, I don't understand my W10 account. I have a MS account, and the W10 settings shows me this MS account. But in fact my account name, folder, etc. has only the first 5 letters "klicl" of my MS account. And the "net user" command shows a "guest" and "WDAGUtility" account. In my MS account my computer is well reported in the "My devices" section. All this didn't worry me until I've tried to install a program who wanted to start a service. The installation process asked for the "klicl" password. I've tried with the MS account one I don't have any other password but it didn't work. I've tr

WDAGUtilityAccount is Admin account & password reset.

I have been attempting to help a family member with a used laptop they purchased. They reset and forgot the password and have not been able to get back in. We have attempted to go through safe mode, reset the laptop (it went straight back to the login screen instead of an initial set up) and used the command prompt several times but no passwords we set, nor accounts we try to create are sticking.

I did not take a picture but here is generally what I am seeing after opening command and typing in: Net user.

    User accounts for \\ (BLANK)

    -------------------------------

    Administrator: WDAGUtilityAccount

    DefaultAccount: (BLANK)

    Guest: (BLANK)

The command completed with one or more errors.

I noticed there is not a name for the listed users and nothing under defaultAccount or guest totally blank. We also tried to enable the guest & admin accounts with passwords but everything we try sends us back to the login with nothing created and none of the passwords working. Not even a simple number password.

The current profile display name on the login says "HP Envy" Hopefully that helps. Only thing we have not tried is the factory reset wiping everything. If anyone has any insight or solutions it would be greatly appreciated. I do not have quick access to the device but I will attempt to get any info I can if needed.

  3. wdagutilityaccount appears as guest in command prompt

wdagutilityaccount has it name set to guest rather than my user account. I am unsure why that is and I don't know if this would have any issues. Anywhere else I look the account always has the users name not guest. Appreciate any help.

    It shows as:

    net user

    Administrator DefaultAccount UserName

    Guest WDAGUtilityAccount

    The command completed successfully

W10 admin/MS account user is "guest" and "wdagutilityaccount", no password

    WDAGUtilityAccount

WDAGUtilityAccount and DefaultAccount are not replacing your user account, they are in addition to any other user accounts. They are necessary for the system to operate normally. DefaultAccount is a template for creating new user accounts and WDAGUtilityAccount is stated by the system to be "A user account managed and used by the system for Windows Defender Application Guard scenarios."

Neither account is active, nor should they be made so. Both accounts are managed by the system and should be left alone.

There are other system accounts besides these two. Open a command prompt and type NET USERS

The names will include: Administrator, DefaultAccount, Guest and WDAGUtilityAccount. A Pro system running Hyper-V will also include RDV GRAPHICS SERVICE. Any other names will be your normal user account or accounts.
