  1. VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/RVI virtualization not applicable to VMWare 17

Good morning I can't use VMWare with the parameters in question. I state that: I have a LENOVO T15 The BIOS is updated to the latest version. Virtualization management is enabled in the BIOS I have Bitlocker turned on I have already deleted Hyper-V from the system I found your reply to a user https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsclient/forum/all/i-cannot-enable-the-nested-vt-xamd-v-to-both/c454a768-8163-4a0a-b60e-352934e71e79 and I did what was recommended but it didn't work I had the same problem with VirtualBox and a command you had recommended VBoxManage modifyvm --neste

    :)

  2. Disabling Memory Integrity is causing windows 11 to BSOD while Powering on Vmware workstation host

Looking into this again and it may get too complicated. So am trying to simplify it lol.

Supposedly with VMware as I expected Hyper-V looks like it needs to be disabled here (but only because of nesting): How To Enable Nested Virtualization (VT-x) On Hyper-V, VMWare, VirtualBox VMs In Windows

That goes with some other things I've seen around.

Getting Hyper-V disabled so Intel VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/RVI enabled in VMware and using virtualization has some effort. The virtualization stuff in the BIOS is also important there.

I made these notes on that when I did it recently in Windows 11:

This is a good link here: https://www.makeuseof.com/windows-11-disable-hyper-v/

Got it working after another reboot though and not necessarily from that link.

    eg...

made sure hyper-v wasn't installed in Windows Settings > Apps > optional features bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off (did previously before link)

    tried powershell command and failed

checked for device manager hyper-v network items and nothing found

Windows security memory integrity has been off

nothing changed there on that try and rebooted to success

system information no longer shows the message a hypervisor has been detected.

task manager cpu shows virtualization enabled

If you keep having trouble though you could also ask at Broadcom Community - VMTN, Mainframe, Symantec, Carbon Black and see what those there suggest.

The only other thing I will note is what you wrote Intel VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/RVI cannot be used with Hyper-V is enabled:

eg "VMware Workstation/Player can now run when Hyper-V is enabled. You no longer have to choose between running VMware Workstation and Windows features like WSL, Device Guard and Credential Guard. When Hyper-V is enabled, ULM mode will automatically be used so you can run VMware Workstation normally. If you don’t use Hyper-V at all, VMware Workstation is smart enough to detect this and the VMM will be used." https://blogs.vmware.com/workstation/2020/05/vmware-workstation-now-supports-hyper-v-mode.html

There's a stronger worded link to that effect as well.

Supposedly too, VMware has a log you can look at to somewhat diagnose issues. Such as ULM in that quote has a meaning and can be determined in the log. And so on.

    Ah that's simple version? lol.

Hope the best VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/RVI virtualization not applicable to VMWare 17 :)

I cannot enable the nested VT-x/AMD-V to both VMWare Workstation and Virtualbox using Windows 11 Pro.

I cannot enable the nested virtualization VT-x/AMD-V to both VMWare Workstation and Virtualbox (already in latest versions) using my Windows 11 Pro. Virtualization is already enabled in BIOS.

To troubleshoot, I already disabled the following:

    1. Windows Features:

    - Hyper-V

    - Virtual Machine Platform

    - Windows Hypervisor Platform

    2. Core Isolation > Memory integrity

    3. Credential Guard > Virtualization Based Security from Not configured to Disabled

Can you share me how to fix this please.

Disabling Memory Integrity is causing windows 11 to BSOD while Powering on Vmware workstation host

    Hello All,

I have newly purchased a laptop having system config:

Microsoft Windows 11 Home Single Language

    OS Version: 10.0.22000 N/A Build 22000

    OS Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation

    OS Configuration: Standalone Workstation

    System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.

    System Model: ROG Strix G533ZW_G533ZWZ

    System Type: x64-based PC

I wanted to do run some host in VMware workstation 16 but enabling Virtualize Intel VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/RVI under virtualization engine setting in vmware workstation won't power on the VMware host leading to error Virtualized Intel VT-x/EPT is not supported on this platform. Continue without virtualized Intel VT-x/EPT?

I tried to do much more findings on the web wherein the solution was to completely disable the hyper-V. I tried to do so from disabling windows feature on and off and uncheck hyper-v setting along with running some CMD and powershell command to disable it. Result same it wont start. One last check I found was to disable the Memory Integrity under Windows security>Device Security>core isolation details > Memory Integrity>toggled off.

As I toggled off Memory integrity and went back to power on VMware host it gave me BSOD error.
"your device ran into problem .......we're just collecting some error info and then we will restart for you"

If you call a support person, give them this info:

    Stop code: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

Could someone is aware how to fix this ? I am not able to run nested VM on this host . Please assist have been looking for the workaround. VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/RVI virtualization not applicable to VMWare 17 :)
