  1. volmgr 161 crash

    Hi,My computer is frequently crashing. The crash does not have a blue screen or anything. It becomes unresponsive before the screen blacks out and the audio freezes up too. The only other item of note is that before blacking out, my monitor shows a popup for "Display Port 1" as if it has changed. However, this is the display that I always use for my computer.Event viewer typically shows 'Error volmgr 161' as well as 'Information FilterManager 6 npsvctriq' prior to the 'Critical' forced shut down.None of the other threads on this topic seem to have an easy solution. Instead, they all ask the po

  2. Event 161 volmgr, win 10 system freeze and auto reboot itself

    Updating the chipset drivers seems to solve the issue related to volmgr 161. I'm still getting BSOD but it's just revealed more errors. It's a typical, everything works fine for years until a new Windows release comes out.

    As stated, updating the chipset drivers seems to solve the issue related to volmgr 161. Case closed on this thread.

    EDIT: I updated the motherboard firmware. This seems to have resolved the other issues causing the BSOD. It's been 5 days and I haven't seen a reboot / crash.

    Volmgr 161

    Hi, i've been expieriencing BSOD's quite often lately and i finally found that the event VOLMGR 161 is a cause of that. I'm using Lenovo Legion Y520 and the event had following informations asigned:

    - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event">

    - <System>

    <Provider Name="volmgr" />

    <EventID Qualifiers="49156">161</EventID>

    <Level>2</Level>

    <Task>0</Task>

    </EventData>

    </Event>

    Does this part: "<Data>\Device\HarddiskVolume2</Data>" means that there's problem with my harddrive? If so, are there any means of repairing that without visiting a laptop service?

    volmgr 161 crash

    Volmgr 161, kernel power 41 constant BSODs

    Constant BSOD - Volmgr 161 followed by Kernel-Power 41.

    Laptop is an Asus GL703VD.

    Volmgr error (from event viewer) always comes from the same volume area according to the report.

    The first time this BSOD occured was a few days ago.

    \Device\HarddiskVolume4

    000000000100000000000000A10004C000000400010000C000000000000000000000000000000000

    Kinda running at my wits' end here. The error went from happening once, to multiple times today, to literally every 5 minutes now. No idea what could be causing

    this. Thank you for any help.

    Addendum: Laptop has been a good bit slower since this issue has been in full swing.
