Windows 10: Video playback issues

I'm one of the many, many, many people seeing the video glitch with Windows 10. I play a video, or a .gif file, and it gets zoomed in to a pixellated mess, and I'm left staring at (for instance) Philip DeFranco's mouth, and nothing else. At least, I think it's his mouth. Hard to tell because the video is zoomed in so f***ing far.

I keep seeing the same responses. "update your video drivers"


Or, the more detailed:

Since we got the same result after running the troubleshooter. Let us check for any Windows update by going to Settings > Update & Security > select Check for updates under Update Status.


We can also go to the Device Manager to update your Display driver. Please follow these steps:

1. Press Windows key + R to open the Run command box.
2. Type devmgmt.msc, then press Enter.
3. Click the arrow beside Display adapters to expand.
4. Double left click on the Display adapter and go to Driver tab.
5. Click Update Driver.

Guess what? I've done all of that and still have the same !@#$ issue. I even get the same issue in Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Edge, and again, ALL MY DRIVERS ARE UPDATED! THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE!!


Can I get an actual solution, please?

Video Playback issues

Hi Cami,

An outdated browsers or display driver is on of the possible causes of playback issues. To isolate your concern, kindly answer the following:

• What's the current build of your computer? Press Windows key + R and then type winver.
• Does the issue happen on web browsers only? Can you try to play a video file from your local storage to see if the same issue persists?
• Did you try to clear the browsing history and resetting your web browsers?
• Did you get a specific error message?
• Do you have a Flash Player installed in your web browsers?

Meanwhile, kindly run the Video Playback troubleshooter. Go to Settings> Update & Security> Troubleshoot> Video Playback> Run the troubleshooter> Restart your computer.

Note: The automated troubleshooter will try to identify and then resolve the issues that it finds.

I suggest you to run the Video Playback
Troubleshooter. Follow these steps to run
Video Playback troubleshooter:

• Type troubleshooting in the search bar and select it.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click Video Playback
  troubleshooter.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
• Check if issue persists.

Step 2: Also, I suggest you to update your graphic card drivers.

I suggest you to update graphic drivers and check if it helps. Follow the steps given below.

• 
  Press Windows key + X key and click on
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Search for Display Adapters.
  
• 
  Right-click on the graphics
  card and click on Update driver software.

All Video playback choppy

• Type troubleshooting in the search bar.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click on Video Playback.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

Method 2:

I suggest you to update the Display adapters driver from the Device Manager and check if it works.

Follow the below steps:

• Right click on Start button and click on Device Manager.
• Select the Graphic driver from the list by extending Display adapters.
• Right click on the Graphic driver and click on Update driver Software.

If the issue persists then install the latest graphic driver from the manufacturer and check if it helps.
