Windows 10: Verification codes do not show up in my mailbox

After my laptop got a new motherboard the pincode of my laptop was no longer available due to a change in the security settings of the device. To set a new pincode I have to log in with my microsoft account, using a verification code sent to my microsoft mailbox. However, the mail with the code never appears in my mailbox. Not even after 45 minutes.Then I tried to log into my account with a mobile phone which did not have that account active yet, again with a verification code. That code also does not appear in my mailbox.I checked the account page and there the correct @hotmail.com address is

I understand that you need to check your BitLocker through your Microsoft account, and you need to use your mailbox to receive the verification code in order to verify your identity information, and your mailbox can't receive the verification code, so you can't check your BitLocker.



The inability of mailbox to receive the verification code may be caused by server instability.

• Please try to send the verification code here after some time.
  
• Please try to send verification code after changing network environment.
  
• Please check whether there is a verification code email in the junk mailbox of your mailbox.
  

If you still can't receive emails in your mailbox. Then you can't check your BitLocker through your Microsoft account. At this point, we can't access the system through regular method. Please try the following steps for a fresh installation.

Please ensure that you backup any important data, including Documents, Pictures, Videos, and more.

1. Prepare a flash driver with at least 8GB (Pay attention to backup data, because creating a boot disk will erase all data of the flash driver). Then operate it on another Windows computer.
   
2. Visit Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com) and click "Download Now" to download MCT(Media Creation Tool).
   
3. Run the MCT, select "Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD or ISO file) for another PC”, and then choose Language, Version, Architecture(if you are not sure about these, choose "Use the recommended options for this PC"), then select "USB flash drive" in the "Select Media to Use" interface, then make a boot disk.

The verification code sent to my email is always wrong

I understand that you're having trouble with the verification code. Here are a few steps that might help:

1. Check for Typos: Ensure that you're entering the code exactly as it appears in your email, without any spaces or special characters.
   
2. Timeliness: Verification codes often have an expiration time, usually within 15-30 minutes after they're sent. Make sure you're using the code soon after receiving it.
   
3. Resend Code: If the first two steps don't work, try requesting a new verification code.
   
4. Browser Issues: Clear your browser cache and cookies, or try using a different browser or device to enter the verification code.
   

Please note that some services may have limited functionality in Iran which could be contributing to this issue.

Not getting verification code what can I do?

Hello Dhruva,

I see you've already followed some steps.

I was reading your answers and I have a suggestion for you.

I once tried to get a verification code on my phone and it said the code was sent but I never received it.

I updated the messaging app and it still didn't help.

I followed some other steps and it didn't help.

My only solution was to remove my SIM Card and put it in another old phone that I no longer used and asked to resend the code and then the verification code arrived perfectly.

This might be a solution for you.
