Windows 10: verification code not received for surface laptop and now it says too many attempts.

The laptop usually uses facial recognition to open, but since the last Windows 11 update the camera has stopped working. The laptop rebooted after using the camera reset trouble-shooter and now cannot log in under facial recognition or pin. I tried to reset the pin but it failed as no verication email was received. Other emails are being received. So this is being typed on a different laptop. I need just to be able to log into the surface laptop - but now it says I need to restart but on restarting I get the same error message. Should I roll back to the previous Windows 11 or open in saf

I am not receiving verification code in my email and can't use my Windows 11 laptop because of that.

Did you check your spam folder in your email? Do you have a phone number listed in your account recovery options with which to receive the verification code?

I'm not sure what is wrong but if it's 2 Step Verification getting in the way you can temporarily turn that off if you can log into your account from another device.
