  1. Various errors while trying to install Brother iprint and scan dcp-j1050dw onto Windows 11

Hi all, I've been trying to install the software and driver for our office Brother iprint and scan dcp-j1050dw printer onto my Microsoft laptop Windows 11 all day. I can access the printer to use the scanner but the printer driver just won't install for some reason. I've tried to install it as part of the package off the Brother website, I've tried to install the driver separately, I've tried to install the software using the QR code link. Each time it fails to work. I've turned off the

Application crash - Brother iPrint & Scan

Just bought and installed a new Brother multi-function printer to replace a broken Canon printer. Installed the full and updated package from their website and the printer is working fine. The scanning function works as well.

But when I install the bundled software "Brother iPrint & Scan", which is a software package that gives you more control of the scanning process, this application will not start. The process just terminates, and I find the following in Event Viewer:

Brother's tech support is useless and all they can suggest is to reinstall Windows 10, which I'm not gonna do.

Does anyone have any suggestion re what could be wrong and how to solve this?

  3. Why doesn't Windows Fax and Scan see my Brother DCP printer/scanner?

I received an error message: "You need a WIA driver to use this device. Please install it from the installation CD or manufacturer's website and try again."

After updating the driver from Brother, I now have an app 'Brother iprint@scan" that allowed me to scan from the Brother. The process above did not work even after installing the new driver. Computers are soo simple and easy to use - or not! Thanks for
    your suggestion.
