    Various BSOD stop codes.

Hi, I have had issues with my PC freezing and crashing in many instances. These crashes occur during normal use, such as watching YouTube or browsing the internet. Many different stop codes such as "Critical structure corruption", "driver IRQL not less or equal", "video scheduler internal error", "kernel security check failure" and many more have been shown. In normal cases, the PC will restart and I can continue using it until it crashes at another time.I have tried testing my RAM through 4 passes of memtest86, but there were no issues found. I also did a complete reset of my P

Frequent BSOD with various stop codes

Hi lately my computer is frequently experiencing BSOD with various stop codes such as SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION, PFN_LIST_CORRUPT and CACHE_MANAGER. I tried reading the minidump file myself but I don't really understand. Please can anyone help me analyze the problem, I would be very grateful.

  3. BSOD with various stop codes

I am having frequent blue screens of deaths with various stop codes

Some of the stop codes are:

    - KERNAL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION (this one appears the most frequently)

    - INVALID_DATA_ACCESS_TRAP (this one is also appearing quite frequently)

    - SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

    - SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

    - UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP

Opening network settings seems to trigger the blue screen of death often, but not always. So it's hard to reproduce.

I am running a Lenovo Thinkpad T15 with windows 11 21H2, when I try to update windows to a newer version I also get a blue screen, usually with INVALID_DATA_ACCESS_TRAP

When I disable windows defender then the blue screen of death appears much more often then when I have windows defender enabled. When windows defender is enabled I only see the BSOD a few times a week, when windows defender is disabled I get non-stop blue screens of deaths.

    BSOD with various stop codes

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

According to your log files, your crash was caused by PLCSim software.

plcsimlwf.sys is a file associated with PLCSim, a software tool used for simulating programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in the context of industrial automation and control systems. It is part of the Siemens TIA (Totally Integrated Automation) suite, which includes engineering software for PLC programming, simulation, and commissioning.

Some users have reported issues related to BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) caused by plcsimlwf.sys. These issues seem to occur when waking up from sleep mode or during system restarts. While the exact cause can vary, it’s essential to keep your TIA software and Windows updates up-to-date to minimize compatibility problems.

If you encounter such issues, consider the following steps:

    • Ensure you have the latest TIA Portal updates installed (such as TIA V15.1 Update and PLCSim Update).
    • Check if any background tasks or services related to PLCSim are running and perform a clean boot.

Disclaimer: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background service is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.

These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by step so that it will help you get back on track.
    • Monitor your system for any patterns (e.g., active TIA sessions before sleep mode) that might trigger the BSOD.
    • Uninstall the PLCSim software and check if the issue disappears.

Please feel free to let me know how it goes.

    Best regards
