Windows 10: usmt.ppkg mistakenly deleted, what should I do?

Hi, I was trying to clean up some space for my C drive, and after a careless operation, I mistakenly deleted the usmt.ppkg in the folder of C: recovery/customizations that weigh more or less 3-4 GB, after I checked some forums and websites I realized I have really messed up.luckily, my computer runs the same as before and does not yet confront serious technical problems, I have done the backup for my important file and applications. So it's there some other way to remake this usmt.ppkg rather than reset my windows? thanks for your attention!

Windows 10 ppkg for reset failing

Hi,

I'm currently trying to get pbr to work with usmt/scanstate to keep apps after reset, however after following both the Microsoft documentation (and Create Provisioning Package in Windows 10).

The machine is built in audit mode with all applications installed at this point, scanstate is run at this point aswell to capture the ppkg. I have tried in a the standard environment aswell if that would make any difference.

The customizations folder is populated with the ppkg file (approx 1.4gb in size), and the recovery partition has winre on it.

However, the machine fails to reset with the error message "There was a problem resetting your pc. No changes were made." In event viewer there error ID is 4502.


Any suggestions would be massively appreciated!

Is USMT Redistributable

I am a developer and I am doing some research on this USMT tool. I was reading about the documentation for USMT seems to be interesting. Is this tool redistributable? Can I write a wrapper around this tool and do some research on the same?. Thought of
developing something innovative and uploading to GitHub so people can use this.
