    User profile migration to new Windows 11 PCs


    As one department ~170 persons are in a transition to move to another department on new Windows 11 PCs I would like to move, not only relevant documents but preferably, the entire user profiles with them.Most of their functions will remain the same. And so most relevant documents, used websites etc. will be the same as previously. Moving the desktop over would prevent them from having to start all over, setting up everything all over.We do use USMT User State Migration Tool as part of our deployment, but the new PCs are pre-deployed. Also, even the latest Windows 11 USMT from the ADK does

    • What do you mean when you mentioned domain user profile?
    • Are you trying to copy a local user profile to a domain account?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

    How do I migrate a Windows 10 user profile to another new Windows 10 PC?

    I already have a computer and laptop that I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro.

    I Just bought a new computer with Windows 10 Pro, and want to migrate my user profile from my existing Windows 10 Pro computer to the new computer so I have all my files and settings setup for the new machine.

    It seems MS doesn't have have Windows Easy Transfer anymore for Windows 10, so how can I do this now?

    A Windows 10 to Windows 10 user profile migration solution needs to be addressed not just for home users, but for corporate IT staff as well. What if I need to backup and restore user profiles from one PC to another PC if both are running Windows 10?

    Please do not answer with solutions for migrating Windows XP, 7, or 8 user profiles to Windows 10. This is strictly a Windows 10 to Windows 10 transfer/migration.

    Migrate Locale Profile to Domain

    I removed my reply because watching those instructions on TechNet I started wondering if they really work with Windows 10.

    Anyway, whatever you try create first a dummy profile, customize it a bit and move it to domain. If everything works, you can then move real profiles.
