  1. User constantly losing access to network drive

I have users with network drives mapped one of our servers. Only we employee has a problem - she loses access to the drive. The red X shows up, however, the shortcut is not clickable. If you click it, the screen turns white and eventually times out. If trying to access it through file explorer, the drive is there but simply does not load.

Twice her profile has been rebuilt. After rebuilding and mapping the drive again, it will work for a few days but the same issues come back. Again, this only happens to one user. Everyone is configured the same. Windows and drivers are up to date.

Why is this happening and what are possible solutions besides what i've already tried?

    :)

    Cannot access shared network drive

Personally, I wouldnt use Everyone. If anyone hacks into you, they have full access to everything and can demolish everything on your raid. I would rather set up accounts and access separately for each person. That way, I know who did all that damage. In the end with a little extra work, I feel more secure by using Authenticated Users.

    If this helps.
step 1 create non-microsoft account and without email and address without admin rights
step 2 share a drive or folder to specific user account (if Everyone is listed, remove it)
step 3 set security > add Authenticated Users (if more than 1 account) or add specific users
step 3a remove Everyone from list
step 3b uncheck full control and write for all items listed except SYSTEM and Admin account.
step 4 right click Start > Computer Management > System Tools > Shared Folders > Shares ... to verify settings and change anything else. You can also see the number of connections to each share here.

Access network drive after autologin with another user not possible

    Hello together,

    I´ve got the following problem:

The PC I´m talking about is configured with a general autologon user. Is the user logged in, he has the possibility to connect to a network drive to access his specific files with the personal user, which are stored on the server . Before the user get´s
access, he is asked for his credentials. Now there are three different situations that occured:

    1. I have access
    2. I have no access (Failure report: "You cant access \xxxxx\xxx..... . You don´t have the rights for the access to...")
    3. First I have no access, after about ~5 minutes I got access.

I´m not sure, but I think it could be that he get my credentials, but nevertheless accesses the network drive with the rights from the general autologon user, not from the personalized user.

If I log off the general user after autologon and log in with my personal user on the PC, there are no problems with the access. But unfortunaly this is not a solution.

Anyone with the same problem or with some suggestions to solve this problem?

    Best regards!
