Windows 10: USB Headset not being detected

Hi, I have some Amazon USB Headset but when I plug it in it isn’t detected. The light on the headset doesn’t turn on. I purchased the same ones as I thought it was the headphones but they still don’t work. The USB ports work with other things too. It just stopped working randomly when on discord.It doesn’t show on device manager or anything.This is windows 10

USB headset not detected

I have a Koss CS95-USB headset that work flawlessly with windows 7. After upgrading to windows 10 the headset does not work at all. Windows 10 does not even act as if it detects the device being plugged in. No pop-up saying a new device is detected, no
device in the device manager to even look at. I have looked at all the problem post about USB headset and tried all the solution listed but non of them are useful because they all rely on updating or changing the installed driver and since my device doesn't
even get detected no driver is installed to change.

If anybody has a solution or if someone can give me a USB headset model that definitely works with windows 10 that would be very helpful.

unfortunately I had already tried that. As I said in my first post. I had already looked at all the threads on USB headset problems and tried all the suggestions. But since my headset does not even seem to be detected nothing works.

Any USB headset that is known to be reliable with windows 10 would be a boon if anyone knows of any otherwise I think I am out of luck until Microsoft can address this problem that seems to be a common problem with these devices.

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 10 pc and community member like you. Let us work together to sort this out.

First, check and plug the USB headset using other device for us to check if the issue is with your computer or the USB headset itself.

If the USB headset is not also detected using a different computer means it is faulty.

If the USB Headset works with different device proceed with the steps below.

-Press Windows key + X

-Go to Settings

-Click Update and Security

-Click Troubleshooter then Additional troubleshooter.

-Look for Playing Audio and run the troubleshooter.

Once done proceed with these steps.

-Press Windows key + X

-Go to Device Manager

-Expand the Sound and Video Game Controller

-Look for Audio driver that was installed

-Right click and Update

-Look for "Browse my computer for driver

-Let me pick drivers available drivers

-Choose an old driver and use it.

Connect the USB Headset and proceed with these steps.

-Go to Control Panel

-In Control Panel, select Large icons from the View by drop down menu.

-Select Sound.

-Select the Recording tab

-Right click and hit Show Disabled Device

-Right click the USB Headset and click Enable.

-Right-click it again and select Set as Default Device.

-Press Windows key + X

-Go to Device Manager

-Expand the Uniniversal Serial Host Controller

-Look for USB 3.0 Root Hub and USB 3.0 Exntensible Host Controller

-Right click and Uninstall

The driver will be automatically installed after restart.

Restart and check the USB Headset

If issue persist, let's download the updated driver.

What is the exact model of your computer?

To check the system model proceed with these steps.

-Press Windows key + R

-Type msinfo32 and hit enter.

-Look for the System Model an Manufacturer and d post it here.
